Our wedding date is set: August 30, 2002! I don't expect BrainLog readers to buy us wedding gifts (though you're welcome to! :), but for friends and family that expressed an interest:
- Our Bon Marche wedding registry has fancy dishes and towels and such. Buy online, or visit a Bon Marche near you. The Bon is having their "Home Sale", which discounts some of these items (including the dishes), but unfortunately I think you have to go into a store to get the sale prices.
- We also have an Amazon.com Wedding Registry with appliances and less expensive items.
- Don't see anything you like? There's always my excessively long Amazon.com wish list, and Lisa's wish list. I think my wishlist address trick still works if you wanted to buy us something not on those lists.
I feel especially weird blogging our registries because we're not actually having a wedding with guests. If we spent $15k on a wedding and invited you, you'd probably be obligated to bring a $100-$500 gift if you came, but since we're cheaping out, it doesn't seem fair to register for dishes. Nevertheless, people apparently want to buy us stuff, so, go nuts!
Want to make some money too. Try this little known tip. If you have an Amazon Affiliates name, restructure your WishList URL like http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=youramazonaffiliatename&path=wishlist/1H6F1MI9XFSKA (that's for Lisa's list).
That way, if someone buys something for you, you get the commission for it as well. Cool eh?
