A ha! The most useful thing I've read on the internet today.

Not THAT useful. When the next browser comes out, it'll have a new set of CSS quirks and need an entirely new set of workarounds, one or more of which will almost be certainly incompatible with one of these tricks, necessitatitng the development of an entirely new set of skanky hacks.



Of course, we could just go with what works now and let whoever's in charge of the site in a couple years deal with it then, but that's the kind of thinking that led to Y2K.
